Madras High Court Asks CBSE To Award 196 Extra Marks To Those Who Took NEET In Tamil
The Madras High Court today directed the Central Board of Secondary Exams or CBSE to award additional 196 marks to those who had given the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in Tamil as 49 questions were wrong. "All students who had taken NEET in Tamil will now get an additional 196 marks out of 720, whether they had attempted these wrong questions or not," said Shaji Chellam, counsel for petitioner. CPM lawmaker TK Rangarajan had filed a petition claiming that 49 questions were wrong in the Tamil version of the NEET exam. A revised ranking list will be issued by the board in two weeks and counselling for the medical course will be suspended till then.
