Struggle Doesn't End Here, Says Nirbhaya's Mother As Top Court Upholds Death For Convicts
The mother of the 23-year-old medical student gangraped and tortured on a moving bus in 2012 in Delhi before being left to die, thanked the Supreme Court saying that they have got justice. Asha Devi, mother of the woman who came to be known as Nirbhaya or fearless, said their "struggle does not end here" referring to the legal steps that still remain before the death sentence is carried out. "Justice is getting delayed. It is affecting other daughters of the society," said Asha Devi, who has contended that the guilty be hanged at the earliest.
