Netflix’s New “Smart Downloads” Feature Lets Users Binge-Watch More Easily

Netflix has released a new "smart downloads" feature for Android phones and tablets, making it even easier to binge watch on the streaming service. The upgrade automatically deletes downloaded episodes that been watched and replaces them with the next episode when you're connected to Wi-Fi, freeing up storage space on your device. And as smart downloads only happen when connected to Wi-Fi, you don't need to worry about the feature eating up your data. Users who download multiple episodes of a show will get the next in line once they've finished watching the first in the sequence. So if you've got episodes three to five of a show on your phone and watch episode three, episode six will download automatically. Users who wish to keep old episodes stored can switch off the smart downloads feature in their settings. Netflix hasn't said when the feature will appear on iOS devices, but let's hope they expand the service soon.
